- 2 cups (500 mL) fresh or frozen blueberries
- Zest of an orange

- ¼ cup (60 mL) loosely packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon
- ¼ cup (60 mL) non-hydrogenated margarine, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9-inch pie plate or 8-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside.
- Mix apples, cranberries, blueberries, orange zest and cornstarch in a large bowl. Pour into pie pan or baking dish.
- Combine oats, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Pour in melted margarine and mix well. Sprinkle the mixture evenly on top of the fruit mixture.
- Bake for 55 minutes until topping is golden and filling is bubbly. Serve warm.
Tips:
- Alternative: You can use many fresh or frozen fruits in place of apples and berries; for example, strawberries and rhubarb in the spring or just all apples in the fall. Use 6 cups (1.5 L) total to replace.
- Substitution: If you prefer non-nutritive sweetener, follow package directions to replace the brown sugar used in the recipe.
