Volunteer today and join us as we honor the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Diabetes Canada. 2021 marks an important year as we recognize the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin. We have many volunteer opportunities for the year ahead. Although we face challenges as a result of the pandemic, we continue to work hard to support those living with or affected by diabetes and the healthcare professionals who care for them. Due to the limitations of physical distancing, Diabetes Canada offices remain closed for now, but we have adapted many of our volunteer opportunities to virtual or remote support. So if you have access to a computer or a phone, there are many ways for you to volunteer, and in most cases our volunteer roles are available anywhere in Canada.
Despite the discovery of insulin 100 years ago, diabetes continues to be successful at taking over the country. With the help of volunteers, Diabetes Canada has an exciting year ahead with educational programs, workshops, conferences, fundraising events, programs for kids and families, and continued advocacy.
We hope you will join us during this special year by participating in Lace Up to End Diabetes to raise funds and awareness to support the 1 in 3 Canadians living with or at risk of diabetes. Together we will End Diabetes.
