With over 20 years of experience in social impact, strategy, and innovation, Shane joins the organization to lead its mission-focused strategies, which include research, advocacy, education, and engagement initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life for Canadians affected by diabetes.

Throughout his career, Shane has built high-performing teams, secured significant international funding, and championed advancements in youth mental health, global health innovation, and genomics ethics.

His prior accomplishments include earning a PhD in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto and serving in leadership roles at Ontario Genomics and Grand Challenges Canada.
