Diabetes Canada is delighted to announce that one of our D-Camps, Saskatchewan Children’s Camp, has changed its name to Camp Kornder.
The name change recognizes recently retired long-time nurse coordinator Nola Kornder, who has been a member of the camp medical team for more than 20 years. Nola’s dedication, hard work and tireless commitment to education and thoughtful care have ensured an empowering, life-changing summer for campers in Saskatchewan.
In 2017, Nola was awarded the Diabetes Canada Charles H. Best Award for outstanding health-care professional as a tribute to her years of exceptional diabetes education.
Diabetes Canada expresses sincere appreciation and thanks to Nola Kornder for her years of devoted service to children living with type 1 diabetes in Saskatchewan.
