The Board of the National Diabetes Trust Corporation is pleased to announce that Rick Blickstead, currently CEO and President of Diabetes Canada, will be taking on a newly-created role as CEO and President of the National Diabetes Trust (NDT). The NDTC Board is confident that Rick will make a positive contribution to the growth and momentum already established by the NDT team. This change is effective January 1, 2018.

Arising from Rick Blickstead’s move, the Diabetes Canada Board is pleased to make the following two announcements, both effective January 1, 2018.

John Reidy, currently Chief Administrative Officer, will be stepping into the role of Acting CEO, Diabetes Canada. John’s broad experience and insight will serve him well in this expanded role.

Jan Hux, currently Chief Science Officer, will add to her current responsibilities in a newly-created role as President, Diabetes Canada. Russell Williams, Vice President Government Relations and Public Policy will report to Jan. Together, Jan and Russell will spearhead our renewed focus on Population Impact. We are confident that Jan, working in partnership with John and the rest of the Diabetes Canada organization, will accelerate our capability to deliver on our mission to End Diabetes for the 11 million impacted Canadians.
