High-fibre diet can prevent metabolic syndrome

Including fibre in your diet can prevent obesity and metabolic syndrome, and also promote the growth of “good” bacteria in the colon.

Metabolic syndrome is a combination of medical problems—increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and high cholesterol levels—that increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
