Risk of childhood type 2 diabetes may begin in womb

A child’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes at a young age is related to whether the mother had diabetes while pregnant, what type of diabetes she had, and whether she is of First Nations descent, according to researchers at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM).
