Latest winner of Diabetes Canada’s reusable goods campaign plans to travel to Europe!

Catherine Gallagher, 68, from Cobourg, Ont., has won a $5,000 travel voucher to go anywhere in the world as the grand prize winner of Diabetes Canada’s Escape the winter blues! Where will your donation take you? campaign.

Now retired, Catherine, enjoys gardening, horseback riding and traveling. She’s been donating her reusable goods to Diabetes Canada for more than seven years.

“Diabetes Canada is able to take my clothing, household goods and other items and put them towards a good cause,” says Catherine. “And the program regularly reminds me to declutter.”

Catherine has friends living with diabetes, so she knows the importance of raising awareness. She says “More education is needed when it comes to healthy living—as consumers are sometimes not aware of how much sugar content is in the products they consume.”

Catherine is thrilled about winning and plans to travel to Spain with her prize.

Canadians can donate their gently used clothing for a chance to win a $5,000 dream vacation or one of 10 $500 VISA gifts cards as part of Diabetes Canada’s current campaign Decluttering has its rewards! running until July 31, 2017.
