On Tuesday July 23rd, 2019 Diabetes Canada will host the Cory Conacher Flame of Hope Charity Golf Tournament in support of Diabetes Research.
Born and raised in Burlington, ON, Cory Conacher (December 14, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice player, playing as a forward for the Tampa Bay Lightning organization of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Cory was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of eight. When not playing he often has an insulin pump attached to his hip to regulate his blood glucose levels.
Partnering with Diabetes Canada, his ultimate goal is to find a cure for diabetes.
We are excited to share that last year our tournament raised over $35,000, funding world class diabetes research.
Our goal this year is to raise $45,000 to continue funding research programs – we need your help now more than ever. Together we can fight this epidemic and help support our fellow Canadians living with diabetes by giving them the tools and resources they need to live a long and healthy life.
