Professional members are an important part of our diabetes community. As a member, you will have access to the latest diabetes research, ongoing education opportunities and will be the first to get updates about Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guideline.
Whether you are a health-care professional or researcher who wants to build a broader health network or stay updated with the newest information on the prevention and management of diabetes in Canada, consider becoming a member.
Regular professional membership
All health-care providers and researchers are encouraged to become regular members.
Regular membership benefits include:

- regional chapter event invitations
- online access and regular mailed issues of the Canadian Journal of Diabetes
- mailed quarterly issues of The Diabetes Communicator
- discounted rates on educational material
*The reduced conference rate is only available if you have an active membership while the conference is occurring.
A regular professional membership allows you to participate in elections, hold office in the professional section, apply or nominate candidates for professional awards, and apply for research funding.

Special interest groups
All regular members can choose to join special interest groups, which provide additional opportunities to network and share information in these areas of specialty.
Members can join any of the following groups for an additional $10:
- Camp Interest Group
- Diabetes in the Elderly
- Diabetes in Pregnancy Interest Group (also known as CanDIPS)
- Foot Care Interest Group
- Inpatient Quality and Safety Interest Group
- Insulin Pump Therapy Interest Group
- Mental Health Interest Group
- Pediatric Diabetes Interest Group
- Primary Care in Diabetes Interest Group
Student professional membership
All post-secondary students (e.g. Bachelors, Masters, PhD, post- doctoral or M.D.) enrolled at a college or university in a diabetes/health-care related field are eligible to become student members.
Student members enjoy the same benefits as regular members free of charge for up to two years.
Complete the application form and email it along with your proof of enrollment to email@example.com. All applicants must provide proof of full-time status that confirms the start and end dates of their program.
Associate professional membership
All health-care professionals and scientists who do not wish to be regular members, but are still interested in accessing online publications (e.g. Canadian Journal of Diabetes) and Diabetes Canada educational webinars are encouraged to become associate members.
Associate members can serve as volunteers but are not eligible to stand for election or hold office.
