Diabetes Canada’s 2019 Midsummer’s Eve Cocktail Soirée celebrates the magic of summer camp, complete with fireside stories, live music, and auction adventures.
We will be gathering as a community on Thursday, June 20 at Shaughnessy Restaurant, VanDusen Garden to raise funds for our type 1 children’s camping programs and are using this event to create a ‘mystical camp-like’ experience in the city.
We are thrilled to take the opportunity to recognize and thank our camp medical team. We are pleased that long-time medical camp mentors will join our current Medical Director as our event Honourees - Dr. Brenden Hursh, Dr. Dan Metzger, Sharleen Hermann, Teri Currie and Doreen Yasui.
Funds raised at our event will benefit children & youth living with type 1 diabetes, specifically by helping send children to our very own Camp Kakhamela – an inspiring camp on the Sunshine Coast where campers are exposed to full range of camp activities and experiences whilst receiving individualized attention to develop new skills and empower them to manage their type 1 diabetes.
