Friendly competition and creative activities are just some of the ways to help encourage young people to choose a healthier option than pop or soft drinks. In recognition of the need to support the health and well-being of children and youth in the Northwest Territories, the government introduced a campaign called Drop the Pop. Since the discovery of insulin in 1922, Canadian researchers have made huge strides in understanding the risks, complications and treatments of diabetes. Although the research CDA funds is diverse, the goals remain the same: to improve the quality of life of people living with diabetes and to find a cure.
