Researcher uses peer support model to help people with diabetes live healthy lives

Learn more about this innovative research

While diabetes education led by healthcare professionals has been shown to have a positive impact on health in the short term, ongoing diabetes support is needed to maintain long-term benefit. However, this can be costly to the individual and the health-care system. CDA-funded researcher, Dr. Tricia Tang, is testing a low-cost peer support model to help people with type 2 diabetes improve and maintain self-management behaviors.
