Last month, an interim update was released regarding the 2013 Clinical Practice Guidelines, specifically the Pharmacologic Therapy in Type 2 Diabetes chapter. This update is the first in the world to incorporate major practice-changing evidence that was released in 2015 demonstrating the cardiovascular benefit of an SGLT2 inhibitor in patients with type 2 diabetes and clinical cardiovascular disease.
