Kiwanis Cycles Kilometers for Diabetes hits the road to raise funds and educate kids about diabetes

British Columbia—For eight years, the Kiwanis Cycles Kilometers for Diabetes team has been touring the coastline to raise money for the Canadian Diabetes Association. Along the way, they stop at schools to help educate kids about the value of healthy eating and physical activity. “Kiwanis’ mandate is to serve the children of the world,” says Robin Nadig, the project’s creator. “As I learned more about type 2 diabetes and how it is increasing in young children, the project became focused on raising funds and awareness to prevent type 2 diabetes in children.”
