“The Meal” marks 35 years!
Planning and organization for the 35th annual “The Meal” event in London, Ontario is now underway.
Taking place on Sunday, April 23, 2017, this fundraising event in support of the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) is London’s longest running and most successful fundraising dinner.
“The Meal” began in 1983, when a group of chefs approached local icon Bill Brady with an idea for adding a unique event to London’s social calendar. Since then, “The Meal” has raised more than $1.6 million to support ground-breaking diabetes research.
The event committee, chaired by Patty Crawford, chairman of the board of the Crawford & Danyluk Insurance Brokerage Group, is looking forward to hosting a very special evening. Joe Drummond, hotel manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton London, has confirmed that the hotel will host the event for the 35th consecutive year.
Emcees Julie Atchison and Nick Paparella of CTV London will be returning for an encore performance and will be assisted on the dais by Chair Emeritus, Bill Brady, a local icon of media and community service.
Executive Chef Todd Pylypiw of DoubleTree by Hilton London will lead the team of volunteer chefs from across the region who will be bringing the dinner to life.
