This award recognizes an innovative alliance or creative partnership that effectively creates a corporate partnership with the Canadian Diabetes Association. The winner of this award demonstrates extraordinary support (as may be evidenced by financial, human resource or in-kind contributions) and ongoing commitment to the Association. Through the alliance or partnership with the Association, the Outstanding National Corporate Partner makes a difference in the lives of those living with diabetes.
The corporation must demonstrate:
quality in the variety of support offered, including:
quantifiable elements of support, including:
innovation / outside-the-box creativity
progressive support from straight dollars-to-dollars, and/or in-kind support, media support, employee involvement, etc.
longevity of commitment in its relationship with the Association
company supports a healthy workplace and does not discriminate against people living with diabetes
the dimension of the organization’s public profile
the compatibility of the company’s philosophy with the Association’s mission
the absence of any negative impact associated with any existing relationships with other organizations
a grand total of dollars donated to the Association over the lifetime of the relationship
involvement of its staff in its support of the Association (example: volunteerism)
variety in the scope of its support such as staff support, program sponsorship (Team Diabetes), etc.
Nominations will be called from Areas, Regional Leadership Centres, Branches, Professional Sections and the National Office. National nominees may be Regional winners. It is the responsibility of the Regions to submit the nominees to the National level. ALL NOMINATIONS FOR NATIONAL AWARDS SUBMITTED BY THE REGIONS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE APPROPRIATE AREA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Executive Director of Funds Development will make the decision on this award, which will then be reviewed by the National Awards Committee. The decision to grant awards is subject to the discretion of the National Awards Committee. The committee reserves the right not to grant certain awards in any given year if suitable nominees or recipients are not identified.
