How to Donate

There are 3 convenient ways to donate:

  1. When we call, just let us know that you have items available for donation and arrangements will be made for a pickup.
  2. Residents may alternatively arrange a pick up on their own by calling the Clothesline® at 1-800-505-5525.
  3. Individuals also have the option of dropping off their donation at their nearest Drop Box or Donation Centre.
  4. Schedule a Clothesline pick-up using our online application

To find the Drop Box or Donation Centre location nearest you, please call the Clothesline at 1-800-505-5525.

To run a Clothing Drive at your school, community event or place of business, contact your local Clothesline office.

Pick-ups

Donors are asked to place their donations outside for 8:00 in the morning the day of their pickup in either a bag or box labeled ‘Diabetes,’ ‘D’ or ‘ CD.’ The donations are picked up sometime during the day FREE of charge.

Note:
Expect a confirmation call the day before your pickup to remind you to place your donation outside for the following day.

Value Village Partnership

Donated articles are sold to Value Village stores across Canada. Value Village is a thrift retailer owned and operated by Savers Inc.

Since 1985, the Canadian Diabetes Association and Clothesline(R) have partnered with Value Village across Canada (excluding Quebec).  Through this mutually beneficial relationship, Clothesline(R) raises more than 32 million dollars annually.  This has assisted the Association in continuing to support the mandate of providing diabetes research, education, services and advocacy.

Why Donate?

Everyone benefits in the end:

  • The Canadian Diabetes Association raises money for diabetes research, education, service and advocacy.
  • Donors feel good knowing their used items are going towards a worthwhile cause.
  • The environment gains by the recycling of reusable items.
