ClotheslineLife’s a trip, you are the pilot!

Starting January 10 and running through to March 10, “Life’s a trip, you are the pilot” invites all Canadians to donate their gently used clothing, small household items and electronics and be entered in a national draw to win a Disney® family getaway.

There are 3 convenient ways to give and be entered in the Disney® family getaway:

1.  Call 1-800-505-5525, schedule your free pick-up, mention the word “TRIP,” and complete your donation
2.  Visit diabetes.ca/promise, schedule your free pick-up from your home (and complete the scheduled donation)
3.  Visit diabetes.ca/clothesline, locate the nearest Clothesline® office and bring your donation directly to us (receive an entry for each bag donated)*

*Find a Clothesline® operation near you and bring your donation directly to us by March 10 and be entered in our draw for a trip for 4 to Walt Disney® World (also see a list of items we accept below)

Since 1985, the Clothesline® program has established itself as a national movement asking all Canadians to keep Clothesline® in mind while cleaning and to make a gently-used clothing, small household item or electronic donation.

Clothesline® is here to help and our primary goal is to make donating as easy as possible.  By visiting diabetes.ca/promise or calling 1-800-505-5525, Canadians can schedule a free pick-up from the convenience of their home.  We accept gently-used clothing donations, all cloth based items, footwear, books, toys, kitchenware, electronics and much more!

Clothesline® also accepts donations of cell phones, PDA’s, ink and toner laser cartridges and many household electronics (please call for details).  Have peace of mind knowing that when donating to Clothesline®, you are not only helping the more than 9 million Canadians living with diabetes or prediabetes, you are also helping our environment by responsibly processing your donations through the Think Recycle™ program.

A fully integrated e-waste facilitator, Greentec is the exclusive Clothesline® partner for all electronic recycling.  All items donated to the Clothesline® program are responsibly processed through their state of the art facilities in Cambridge, ON.

This year alone, Clothesline® has diverted more than 46 million kilograms of clothing, household items and electronics from our landfills.  This translates into a savings of 840 million kWh of energy while reducing our donors’ carbon footprint by 115 million kilograms of CO2 emissions.  This is equivalent to driving a car 41,000 times around the globe or saving 8.2 million trees.

Clothesline® also accepts gently used clothing, cloth based items and shoe donations at any of our 1,875 RED Clothesline® donation boxes from coast to coast to coast.  Please visit diabetes.ca/dropbox to find a local donation box.
