Diabetes Basics Education Session
Learn “Just the Basics” for diabetes management, including what to eat.
For people new to diabetes.
Diabetes Advanced Education Session
Learn how to achieve better diabetes control including if insulin is a choice for you and how to adjust insulin to meet targets. Have a one on one consultation with a diabetes nurse educator. Includes free A1C testing.
Cholesterol Testing
Clinics available every Tuesday morning by appointment, Includes: total cholesterol (TC), HDL, LDL, TC/HDL, tryglycerides and blood glucose.
Body Weight Assessment
Learn how to lose weight and earn Dollars for Pounds.
Includes: weight loss plan, weigh-in, step counter, and other tracking tools.
Walking Club
River Striders Walking Club: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings
Drop in between 8:30am and 10:30am; Coverdale Centre, 50 Runnymeade Road, Riverview (fall/winter); or meet outside Jean Coutu in Riverview for a walk of the Riverfront Trail (spring/summer). The Coverdale Centre is open year round for walking indoors in case of bad weather.
Blood Pressure Clinics
Visit the pharmacy on the first Wednesday of each month between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for blood pressure and blood glucose testing.
Smoking Cessation
Learn how to quit and stay quit. Includes: Help developing a cessation plan, referral to the Smoker’s Helpline, information about the benefits of cessation and the various medications available to help.
Foot Care Clinics
Nursing foot care available every Wednesday by appointment. Includes: nails cut and filed, corn and callus care, ingrown nail care, diabetes foot assessment and foot massage. Cost is $35 – Free for veterans.
Pain Clinic
Come experience Reiki – a natural compliment to pain medication.
Memory Testing
Memory screenings for dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Diabetes Peer Support Group
Meets the third Tuesday of every month. All welcome, free drop-in program.
7pm at the Greater Moncton YMCA community room (1st room on the right as you enter).
