Participants Wanted for Research
Do you have type 2 diabetes and enjoy the taste of coffee?
The purpose of this study is to assess whether or not drinking decaffeinated coffee can help control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. This study requires a 7 month commitment and requires you to consume decaffeinated coffee for 3 months and water for 3 months. Also, you will be asked to record your food intake, perform 4 oral glucose tolerance tests and to monitor your daily blood sugar levels in addition to refraining from caffeinated foods and beverages for the 7 month duration of the study.
If you can answer YES to the following questions, the research team would like to hear from you:
Are you a non-smoker between the ages of 25 and 65 years old?
Have you had Type 2 diabetes for at least 2 years and are not taking insulin, exenatide or sitaglipin?
Would you be willing to drink decaffeinated coffee everyday for 3 months?
