Global BC Supports the Canadian Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Summer Surge
Vancouver, BC (June 2010) - In support of the Canadian Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Summer Surge campaign, Global BC is airing a television public service announcement from June 18 to 24 to help promote this fundraising movement through their community calendar called ETC. hosted by Global BC’s Erin Cebula. The Diabetes Summer Surge is a campaign to ask Canadians to add a fundraising component (real or virtual) to their summer activities to help the Canadian Diabetes Association lead the fight against diabetes and provide services to the millions affected by the disease.
“As part of our commitment to support various community organizations, we are pleased to promote the Diabetes Summer Surge. It is important to assist the Canadian Diabetes Association to help provide vital education and services to thousands of British Columbians living with and affected by this chronic and progressive disease,” said Darren Puffer, Community Relations Supervisor of Global BC.
“We are grateful for the support of Global BC to encourage people and communities to rally together to raise critical funds that enable the Association to serve their friends, families, neighbours and colleagues living with diabetes. We look forward to developing our partnership with Global BC,” replied Connie Abram, Executive Director of the Canadian Diabetes Association, Pacific Area.
