Flipping funds for Team Diabetes

Tags: Team Diabetes

In observation of Diabetes Awareness Month in November, De Dutch Pannekoek House’s 19 locations in BC and Alberta will be fundraising for Team Diabetes.
“I am so thrilled that the entire De Dutch franchise will be supporting the Canadian Diabetes Association’s Team Diabetes program this year, says Bill Waring, President of De Dutch Pannekoek House.  “I have personally been an avid participant of Team Diabetes for several years, knowing that diabetes is a serious disease that affects over 433,000 people in BC and Alberta.  It is wonderful to now have the full and enthusiastic participation of our whole restaurant team to support this fundraising effort.”

“On our tenth year anniversary, we’re excited that De Dutch Pannekoek House is supporting Team Diabetes and the Association,” said Fred DeFina, Director, Team Diabetes. “Bill Waring has been a staunch supporter for Team Diabetes. He has participated in our Iceland and Australia runs and is once again fundraising to run this January in the Walt Disney World Marathon.”
During the month of November, patrons of De Dutch Pannekoek House can make a donation at any of the locations or join Team Diabetes to walk or run in Reykjavik or Rio de Janeiro. They can also attend a free no-obligation Information Night about Team Diabetes on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 6:00 pm at the De Dutch Pannekoek House’s Strawberry Hill location in Surrey (7310-120th Street).

The thirty-four year old De Dutch franchise, with 19 locations in Calgary, Alberta and BC’s Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley, Okanagan, and Cariboo, has successfully carved a niche in the competitive food service industry. De Dutch Pannekoek House specializes in breakfast, brunch and lunch, offering their customers a unique blend of European ethnicity in its menu items. The Pannekoek, a Dutch-style pancake 12 inches in diameter, is their signature dish and continues to draw loyal customers.
