Challenger Program
Making the move from camper to staff is one of the most fun and rewarding experiences imaginable. At Camp Banting, we provide a select group of youth (age 15-16) an opportunity to develop leadership skills through a wide range of leadership training sessions.  Through workshops, outtrips and cabin placements, our Challengers learn how to instruct campers, plan programs, and put their skills into action. Challengers must commit to the full 2-week session and register online via camper application. There is a supplementary application for Campers that wish to take part in the Challenger Program. For a copy of this application please contact Ruth Lynch at or 705-789-7153.

Fees
Camp Banting will once again be offering a “3-Tiered Voluntary Pricing Program” for the 2012 Summer. We have done this for a few reasons: first, we recognize that our families have different abilities to pay. Second, we feel it is important that we begin to communicate the true cost of camp to our camper families. Historically, we have been charging roughly 60% of the true cost directly to our participants. This of course has placed a tremendous burden on the camp’s capacity. In order to continue to provide the camping services that we do for children with type 1 diabetes in Ontario, we need to take a more proactive approach in how we manage our subsidies. We hope to do this with the voluntary 3-tiered pricing program.

This year, we ask that you please take a moment to look at the rate descriptions and determine which of these three prices your family is able to pay for your child’s experience. This is strictly an honour system; select the fee you feel is appropriate and that is what you will pay. The program is voluntary, and in no way influences the experience a child will receive at camp. Please note that additional financial assistance with camp fees is still available via application for campership.

2-week camping session:
Tier 1: Actual Cost = $1,900
Tier 2: Partially Subsidized = $1,650
Tier 3: Heavily Subsidized = $1,400

Campership (subsidies)
Camper subsidies may be available from the Canadian Diabetes Association for families that require financial assistance. For more information please email or 705-789-7153.
