Frontier College is a national, non-profit literacy organization.  We work with children, youth and adults to improve their literacy skills.  As a pioneer in Canadian literacy we endeavour to broaden the scope of national conversation on the importance of literacy.  Health literacy research and practice in Canada dates back to the late 1980s when the Ontario Public Health Association collaborated with Frontier College on a literacy and health project.  Frontier College has been part of a national working group on Health Literacy since 1994.  As an organization, we work with volunteers and community partners through a variety of programs to give people the skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential and contribute to society. Founded in 1899 as Canada’s original literacy organization, Frontier College has helped millions of Canadians to improve their literacy skills. To learn more visit, Frontier College
