Vancouver Island acknowledges local community supporters

Victoria, BC (Aug. 24, 2011) – The Vancouver Island Region of the Canadian Diabetes Association, would like to acknowledge the generous support of community fundraising initiatives with recent donations from:

Adrena LINE Zipline Adventure Tours

BC Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows

Backfit Spinal Health and Fitness

“There are close to 60,000 people living with diabetes on Vancouver Island. It is through our network of community supporters such as AdrenaLine Adventure Tours, BC Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Backfit Spinal Health and Fitness that the Canadian Diabetes Association is able to provide education and services to people living with diabetes on the island. We are grateful for their support, creativity and enthusiasm on behalf of those living and at risk of developing diabetes,” said Julie Holder, Vancouver Island Regional Director for the Canadian Diabetes Association.





Jeremy Wilson, Director of AdrenaLine Adventure Tours presented a cheque for $3,530 to Julie Holder, Regional Director for Vancouver Island raised during its first “Dare for Diabetes” Zipline event.





Chuck Pusateri, Regional Chair for Vancouver Island- Canadian Diabetes Association, received a cheque for $2,750 from the BC Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows to go towards children’s camps.

After a recent successful company golf tournament at The Ridge Par 3, Dave Prescott of Backfit Spinal Health and Fitness presented a cheque for $1,600 to Julie Holder, Regional Director for Vancouver Island.
