Purpose

The Eli Lilly Graduate Scholarship enables a Diabetes Educator Section (DES) member to pursue graduate or post-graduate studies in a diabetes related field.

The Award

Recipients of the scholarship will receive $5,000 paid in two installments: the first upon receipt of proof of acceptance in a program; the final upon completion of the program.

Eligibility

The scholarships are open to:

  • Active DES members for a minimum of one year, who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
  • Applicants must not have received another DES or Canadian Diabetes Association scholarship or bursary for the same academic year.
  • Studies at Canadian universities will receive preference.
  • NOTE: Members of the DES Awards Selection Committee and National Executive are not eligible for nomination.

Requirements

Applications must be typed or submitted in electronic format (i.e. Word document or .pdf) on official forms available through the DES. Handwritten, incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Include with the completed form:

  • two references
  • one current copy of the applicant’s resume or curriculum vitae
