Dr. Baiju Shah - Toronto, ON

The Canadian Diabetes Association is helping researchers like Dr. Baiju Shah, scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Studies and Endocrinologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, advance their diabetes research through funding. Dr. Shah’s research is focused on how diabetes affects different ethnic groups and how we are treating it in Canada.

“Rates of diabetes are different around the world, and people from China and South Asia are at particularly high risk for the disease,” says Dr. Shah. “I’m researching how people with diabetes use the healthcare system and how well they manage their disease, comparing the general population to those of Chinese and South Asian origin.”

Diabetes is every bit as serious as cancer and other life threatening diseases. Help us lead the fight against diabetes as we work to find a cure by supporting the Canadian Diabetes Association and researchers like Dr. Shah.
