Dan Hill is a passionate and well known Canadian, an accomplished author and a Grammy / 5-time Juno award-winning musician. Dan has been living with type 2 diabetes for a decade and has recently required insulin management. He is passionate to share his personal experience and that of his extended family (his grandfather, father and brother being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes).
In 2009 / 10, he contributed to Diabetes Dialogue, is an on-camera personality for Diabetes Summer Surge, Diabetes Awareness Month and will headline a concert to benefit the Association in Edmonton this October 22, which will close this year’s National Annual General Meeting (tickets can be purchased at diabetes.ca/danhill).
“I am excited to be collaborating with the Canadian Diabetes Association on this concert,” said Dan Hill. “Diabetes is a global epidemic and it is my hope to bring further attention to the disease by sharing my own experiences of living with type 2 diabetes.”
Dan is very health conscious and an avid runner taking on 15 to 20 kilometres every other day. “It’s no coincidence that I kicked up my running after my dad died,” he says. “I saw Dad lose his legs, which made me value mine all the more.”
