An Association member and major volunteer in many capacities at both the local and national levels, Lori Berard is inarguably passionate about diabetes.

A member of the executive committee for the Association’s 2008 Clinical Practice Guidelines, she was also a chapter author.

In her work as a certified diabetes educator, she specializes in the education and clinical management of patients within clinical research programs, and remains active in the development of educational programs related to innovative and new therapies in diabetes management.

Often an invited speaker at conferences and medical education events, this diabetes champion has published numerous works in peer-reviewed publications. Her areas of interest are innovative strategies for the management of diabetes, insulin therapy, self-monitoring of blood glucose and self-management education.
