Healthy eating does not mean giving up traditional foods. The Canadian Diabetes Association has developed tools for cultural groups at higher risk for diabetes to help in diabetes prevention and management. By following basic guidelines and recommendations, people with diabetes can still enjoy their favourite cultural foods, achieve target blood glucose (sugar) levels and reduce the risk of complications.
