Managing diabetes with mental health issues or addictions |

There are a number of barriers that make it difficult for people living with diabetes who also have addictions or mental health issues to manage their disease. The Canadian Diabetes Association, in partnership with service agencies in Sudbury, Ontario, has received a grant from the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport to research this unique group. |

Success in research: Identifying how stem cells are involved in diabetes-related complications |

With funding from the Canadian Diabetes Association, Dr. Zia A. Khan was able to study stem cells to discover new information about why blood vessel damage happens in people with diabetes, and if there could be a way to stop or reverse that damage. |
