Turn Your Passion into Fundraising Success!
Coming up with a unique fundraising idea can be as simple as looking in the mirror and asking yourself, what do I love to do? Whatever the answer is, there is a good chance you can turn this into a successful fundraising activity!
Love crafting but are running out of space to display all your amazing creations? Participate in some local craft shows, sell your products and contribute the net proceeds to your fundraising campaign. You could also do a private show and sale with family, friends and colleagues. Invite them to your house or set up a display at work, serve some light refreshments and sell your items. With Christmas shopping season coming up in just a few months, this is a great opportunity to get a head start on your crafting to maximize your sales!
Are friends and family always telling you that you’re so good at something that you should quit your job and pursue it, but you’re not quite ready to take the plunge? Try it as a fundraising idea first! Do you have an eye for fashion or home décor? Offer consultation services by donation. Love to bake or cook? Create magnificent cakes for special occasions or deliver home cooked meals for friends and family on the go. Net proceeds go to your fundraising campaign and you gain valuable experience and market testing at the same time!
Love dogs and notice a few in your neighbourhood that are in need of a bit of exercise? Offer dog walking by donation and integrate it into your training program. When it gets cooler out, knowing that a furry friend is waiting for you can be that extra bit of motivation that you need to get outside. It’s a win for you, the dog and the dog owner!
Are you an avid sports fan that never misses a big game? With a new season of sports now under way, consider hosting your own Monday Night Football or Hockey Night in Canada parties. How about a series – Grey Cup, Super Bowl and Stanley Cup! As an added incentive to your friends and family, offer them “season tickets” so that they save by committing to a number of events in advance.
Good with a needle and thread? With Halloween just around the corner, parents will soon be panicking to find that perfect costume for their children and many adults will go with some old stand by because they are too busy to come up with something new. Create a price list and start making prize winning costumes by special order!
These are just a few of the many ways you can turn what you love to do into donations in support of a cause that is important to you. Looking for more ideas?
