Let’s Get Social!

Facebook
It’s interactive and easy to use so is a great addition to anyone’s fundraising tool kit. Post a direct link to your fundraising page on your profile, post updates on your wall and share photos of your training, fundraising events and more. One of your biggest donations could come from a high school classmate you haven’t seen in 20 years!

Twitter
Twitter, if used effectively, can help you reach your fundraising goal. Many are intimidated by the concept of short, 140-character messaging but you will soon get better at being efficient with words to remind your followers to make a donation, update them on your fundraising and training, send messages and images on race day and more!

LinkedIn
This social platform geared towards business professionals is not only an excellent way to network for work, it can also be a great way to raise funds. You never know who has a personal connection to diabetes!

YouTube
Videos can be an excellent way to tell your Team Diabetes story, share your passion for the cause with your donors and ask for support. Although it may not generate a lot of donations directly, it can be a nice addition to your fundraising toolkit.

E-Newsletters and Blogging
If you enjoy writing, consider sending out monthly e-newsletters to your supporters or writing a blog. It’s a great way to keep your friends, family and colleagues up to date on your progress, fundraising events you have coming up as well as to let them know how you did on race day. It helps keep your fundraising efforts top of mind among your different networks.
