Team Diabetes is excited to announce our latest additions to our 2012 / 2013 calendar of international events! We are well known for our roster of unique events and these incredible destinations, two of which are new to our program, are no exception.
Cayman Islands
December 2, 2012
We’re escaping winter and heading back to this amazing, tropical destination. Walk or run the half marathon, run the full marathon or sign up with 3 friends and run in the marathon relay together - that’s just over 10K each! The Caymans event offers a picturesque, enjoyable and flat route that passes through the famous financial district of George Town, along the beautiful waterfront and through some of the more exclusive neighbourhoods on the Island. Once you’re done your event of choice, relax and enjoy the warm waters and white sand beaches.
Walt Disney World, Florida
January 12 – 13, 2013
Experience the wonder of Walt Disney World in a whole new way! Join us for a weekend of events that are as magical as they are memorable. Walk or run through the amazing theme parks and receive a coveted, Disney themed medal to commemorate your completion of the half marathon, full marathon or the Goofy Challenge. Post event take in all Disney World and the Orlando area have to offer from SeaWorld and water parks to the Kennedy Space Center and Busch Gardens.
Vienna, Austria – NEW EVENT!

Join us for our inaugural visit to the City of Music! Austria’s capital and largest city, Vienna boasts beautiful architecture, numerous museums and galleries, stunning parks and world famous landmarks, some of which you will see on course. Choose between a half marathon, full marathon or marathon relay. Post event, discover that Vienna doesn’t just offer a walk through history. Like any world-class city, it offers a dynamic mix of shopping, nightlife and dining to complement its rich, cultural side.
Edinburgh, Scotland – NEW EVENT!

A city rich in history, Edinburgh is home to famous landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s Seat. Due to its unique character, “Old Town” and “New Town” were named a Unesco World Heritage site. In addition to being steeped in fascinating history, Edinburgh and area offers plenty of other distractions including restaurants, shops and activities such as golf, hiking coastal and inland paths and exploring the beautiful East Lothian beaches. The event itself offers something for everyone – 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon and marathon relay!
Reykjavik, Iceland – 30th ANNIVERSARY of the MARATHON & NEW HIKE OPTION!

2013 will be the 30th Anniversary of the Reykjavik Marathon so we couldn’t miss the opportunity to return to our most popular event to celebrate with them! Choose the 10K, half marathon or full marathon. Like to hike? Due to the dramatic and unique landscapes that abound in the “Land of Fire and Ice”, we are also offering a one day hike option for those who prefer to challenge themselves off the beaten track. After your Team Diabetes adventure wraps up, begin a new one as you explore stunning black sand beaches, volcanoes, hotsprings and glaciers that make Iceland a destination worthy of inclusion on your bucket list.
Amsterdam, Netherlands

Team Diabetes is excited to announce our return to Amsterdam! Known as the Venice of the North, Amsterdam features over 100K of canals, more than 1,500 bridges and impressive architecture. Enjoy the sites of this scenic city as you make your way along the 8K, half marathon or marathon course. After the event, explore world-class museums and galleries, fine dining, beautiful parks and unique shopping. If you have energy left at the end of the day, a thriving nightlife will keep you up late into the night!
